Fifty million people in the U.S.—including one in four children—don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Directors Kristi Jacobson – the director behind many of our work, including this recent corporate film – and Lori Silverbush examine the issue of hunger in America through the lens of three people who are struggling with food insecurity. This week, their incredible documentary, A Place at the Table, will be released nationwide in theaters, on iTunes and on Demand Everwhere, along with a social impact campaign, led by Participant Media, that features a first-of-its-kind, national action center with the most important national and local actions from NGOs on the front lines of ending hunger in America.

An amazing work of cinema, A Place at the Table is also a tremendous example of how film can be a powerful tool for social change. On Wednesday, the New York Times will feature the documentary during its TimesTalks event, convening the people behind the film—actor and activist Jeff Bridges, musician T Bone Burnett, executive producer Tom Colicchio, directors Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush and Share Our Strength founder Bill Shore— to discuss how the problem of “one nation, underfed” could be solved once and for all.
